| Ruby Raunch Little is known for sure about the rogueish origins of Ruby Raunch. Some say she’s a Russian bordello escapee turned mastermind of international espionage, but no hard evidence has ever been found of this or any other alleged pasts. An ever-elusive, mightily mysterious, always alluring thief of hearts and identities, Ruby landed on the Halifax burlesque map in 2004, staking her claim on the city. Since then she has weaved her way through many a story and disguise, tirelessly seducingaudiences with her unique brand of dark entertainment. A Pink Velvet member since the beginning, you may also remember her from - among others - The Halifax Burlesque Society. But this should not be taken as an indication you have any idea what she has in store for you next. |
 | LIBERCROTCHIE - "The Ivory Tickler" Libercrotchie was born under a grand piano in "Gay Paris". Weaned on Flaxseeds and PowerSmoothies; he spent his formative years emulating the Go-Go Boys of the Moulin District; honing his dance skills and waiting for his chance to shine. Traveling to Halifax via Hot Air Balloon, he was introduced to Mz. Cock Tail by a Tarot Card Reader who said "You must join forces, and through the power of Burlesque; enlighten and entertain as many as you can. Then open a smoothie bar." Following through on half of the prophesy, Libercrotchie and Mz Cock Tail have been delighting audiences with their unique abilities as performers since 2003. They were delighted in 2006 when the Pink Velvet Burlesque Troupe blew into town in a freak tornado.Pop satire, sexuality and (sometimes) silliness all infuse their work with excitement and relevance. |

| Mz Cocktail Originally born in Lahr Germany, Rodericka Ula Schmetterling fled an arranged marriage when she was 18, in pursuit of the study and performance of Commedia dell'arte in Paris France. While supporting herself working as a lounge singer and peep show dancer in the red light district under the pseudonym Mz.Cock-Tail, she obtained a spot in the coveted line up at the Paris Olympia, with help from one of her main clients. Her sultry performances, heavily executed with dance and physical comedy, gave her ample opportunity to stealthily divert the wealthy patron's attention away from the fact that she robbed them blind to gain the means to aid her travels, giving her the opportunity to perform all over the world. |

| Officer Tootsie
As a wee baby, Tootsie was discovered on the front steps of Normandy Ladies Senior Home. He was raised there on buttered biscuits and tea. Tootsie learned the ways of the world from his many sweet mothers becoming adept in etiquette and sewing. He also learned of the scary elements of the outside like machine gun totting teenage gangs, alcoholic school children lurking in alleys intent on mugging, drag racing in streets and on sidewalks, etc. Wielding a might like that of an irritable old woman Tootsie dedicated his life to police enforcement. He was not prepared for one thing; however, the disorienting power of the beautiful girls of burlesque. An undercover operation with Pink Velvet had gone somewhat awry. |
